Hopefully this will sort itself out with the proper version.
However in the demo version it didn't seem to offer useful batch scanning, indeed it seemed to require that I know which frame (of the 12 in the film holder) I want to scan, without giving a full preview of the whole lot. Also bearing in mind Alan's comments re: SilverFast issues on his Mac, I will prob go with VueScan.
It seems that Silverfast is more expensive too, though i have not delved into great detail re: SilverFast version pricing (looks like there's just 2 rates for VueScan - $50 or $80). I have tried out the SilverFast demo and the interface seems rather less user-friendly than VueScan (with VueScan I had a really nice scan within a few minutes of downloading with SilverFast, well I am still a little puzzled, though the scan quality is indeed excellent too).
